Most women love shoes. Like handbags and makeup, they are the candy of our wardrobes. But unlike designer handbags, designer shoes do not (yet) cost thousands of dollars, so women can still buy three, four, five or more pairs a season. And we do! According to NPD Group, which tracks retail purchases, footwear sales to baby boomers (ages 45-64) totaled almost $6.7 billion in 2006, up from about $5.5 billion in 2004.
