my Winehouse is cleaning up her act in more ways than one.
The singer used her trademark black eyeliner to cover up a topless tattoo on her arm when she performed via satellite at the Grammys, it has been revealed.
Producers at the music ceremony, where Amy won five awards last week, were concerned by the graphic nature of one tattoo on her left arm which features a topless woman.
So Amy, 24, filled in the offending area before she appeared on air.
A source told the Daily Telegraph: "Amy drew a little black bikini top on the large topless femle tattoo on her arm, so as not to offend any of America's puritanical viewers."
Well I am thankful that she saved us poor Americans from that horrible scene !
That's cute, Tedd.
Yeh, cuz you us know Americans have never seen BOOBS before. We'd probably all go blind if it hadn't been for Maybelline. *laughs and rolls eyes* It's a tattoo, for Pete's sake.

Yes. Sometimes the restrictions seem so random, too.
Americans have never seen BOOBS before
Shaun,
Do you have any idea what cynna66 is talking about ?
Well especially since I recall Lil Kim's boob hangin' out with nothing but a pastie on her nipple a couple years ago. LoL. I don't care if people are walkin' around with boobs hangin' out. It's just part of the human body. This is just a drawing on skin... so weird what people deem offensive these days. I agree it seem awfully random.

Not sure about the Maybelline reference. :)
But I do think the blouses these days are fairly low cut in general among the general public.
Not sure about the Maybelline reference.
The eyeliner used to make a make-shift bikini for her tattoo. ;D
Thanks, now I get it.
Gotta watch out for those x-rated tattoo's...LOL what a joke, like you said, its just ink, the eyeliner draws more attention to the tattoo in the first place anyway.
Americans only elect BOOBS to office.
It's probably a good thing that the Venus De Milo is at the Louvre, over here someone would probably try and put a bra on it...
Good point.
Yeh, France has boob-acceptance. If it were here in America, she'd be all dressed up for a day at the beach. Pretty funny image.
Most of the world boobs are legal, except here. When I lived in Germany, it (they ?) were a pretty common sight. Same in Norway and Australia.
A painting??????????????
Time to don the tinfoil hats.
Venus is the Roman goddess of love. Do you expect her to go around fully clothed ? Yikes....
The "tinfoil hat" is increasingly being taken out of context. The tinfoil hat keeps the gov't from reading your brainwaves via satellite.
I don't see how it applies
Not that I don't think it is utter crap.
Hey there is nothing wrong with tin foil hats, some are rather stylish, even mens and womens versions now.
actually the "boobs" in question are not boobs at all, but rather an index.
what amy covered up was lines in skin.. any boobs she may have been sporting were undoubtedly firmly holstered away..
and as i recall, not too long ago there was a certain wardrobe malfunction that cause the "puritanical american" to poop their collective pants..
...what amy covered up was lines in skin
Good point.
My guess is if it had been anyone other then that person that had the wardrobe malfunction, America would have been happy, but you can only take so much of that family..... :-)
It's still an "artists" rendition of bare female breasts, lines or not.
If I were Amy, I would ask for a refund on that Tattoo, I think she got a bad deal.....
And it's an ugly tattoo at that. Looks like it would be more appropriately placed on a bathroom wall than on a woman's arm. Just shows her bad taste.
I think I've seen jail-house tats with more artistic flair, tact, and panache. Still, she shouldn't have to draw an eyeliner bikini on it because people think breasts are offensive.
It is somewhat unattractive.
Still, Cynna makes a good point, IMO.
I'm not debating the breast covering. I don't care about that one way or the other.
Maybe we should see this in light of the sensibilities of Muslims. If exposing too much arm is bad imagine how they would see this.
It all comes down to how far is too far. Someone's always pushing the edge and there's a price to that.

That's not an edge, that's a line, drawn on the back of the Pushmi-pullyu.
Amy is amazing , and covering that the way she did was kinda creative. Good that she did not have a tantrum over covering it the way so many celebs might have.
