Paula Abdul's colossal screwup on "American Idol" this week has gotten fans hollering that the judging isn't fair - and has some questioning her role on the show.
Based on the message boards, what pulled at the nails of viewers was the notion that what Abdul or the judges might have been told what to say, or that any of their reactions were scripted.
A poster going by the name PookiAdams wrote on Fox's "Idol" page that the producers want viewers to think everything "is on the up-and-up, when it's clearly not.

I have watched nearly every single episode of this season's American Idol, missing perhaps 2 in all. Paula has had a little trouble with speaking when it's her turn. She appears to stumble on her words, having a hard time conveying what she is trying to say. We have speculated that perhaps Paula has had a few to many cocktails before the show, but we thoroughly enjoy her there. It's wonderful to see the human side of such a star.
There's no way, not a chance, that show is scripted.
I don't watch the show, but I appreciate the first hand input.
Anytime, Shaun.
I'll include another observation. Paula is shamelessly emotional on the show. You can watch her close her eyes to search for words, and see the tears in her eyes when she is moved, ALWAYS looking for the good of each contestant and focusing on that. She puts a heart in it.
Randy and Simon are nowhere near cute enough to pull that off.
Interesting observation.
